'Plastics Make it Possible' calls for expanded recycling

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Plastics Make it Possible campaign funded by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) has urged Americans to recycle more plastics during the America Recycles Day and throughout the year. It called upon residents to recycle more types of plastics during America Recycles Day celebrations and stand a chance to win an iPad Air.

According to the campaign website, Americans are seen regularly recycling plastic bottles from kitchens. However, many other types of plastics beyond the kitchen and beyond the home are eligible for recycling. Plastic containers for bathroom products such as shampoo and laundry detergents are easily recyclable. Bottle caps and container lids too are recyclable. Recycling of these plastic products could significantly contribute to recycling rates, it noted.

The site offers tips to broaden the types of plastics collected for recycling. Visitors to the site www.plasticsmakeitpossible.com/second-chances could enter for a chance to win a 16 GB iPad Air by participating in the America Recycles Day sweepstakes. The sweepstakes will run until November 22nd.

Plastics Make it Possible highlights the many ways plastics inspire innovations that improve our lives, solve big problems and help us design a safer, more promising future. This program is sponsored by America’s Plastics Makers through the plastics industries of the American Chemistry Council.
