NEW DELHI (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel reported that its Odisha steel project of 6 million tonne capacity was progressing on a right path and the first phase of the project would commission by the end quarter January-March 2014-15.
Managing Director of Tata Steel India, Mr. T V Narendran said that they were in schedule with the plant construction work and would start production by the fourth quarter of present fiscal year.
The Odisha steel project is located at Kalinganagar, has two units for producing flat steel products for automobile sector. Each unit has the capacity of about 3 million tonnes per year. CEO added that he was optimistic but the steel demand was linked with GDP growth. He expects a steady price for steel and declined to provide further details about the project.
