NY based electronics recycler conferred with EPA Environmental Quality Award

NEW YORK (Scrap Monster) : The US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has selected New York based electronics recycler-Sunnking Inc for the prestigious Environment Quality Award 2013.

The R2 certified electronics recycling firm has been selected for the prestigious award for the year 2013 in recognition for its meritorious work in dismantling, refurbishing and recycling electronic scrap at its recycling facilities located in Rochester and Buffalo.

The award is considered to be a remarkable achievement for the company in reward to its work to the benefit of environment and public health of the communities. The NY Congresswoman Louise Slaughter praised the company for creating green jobs in an industry that is set to transform the economy of the nation.

Sunnking was initially formed in 2000 as a reseller of electronic equipment. 11 Years later, Sunnking increased recycling volumes to over 10 million pounds annually and became NY State’s first EPA R2 certified recycler.  Sunnking claims to have recycled 14 million pounds of electronics during 2012.

Some of the common items that Sunnking recycles  include computers (desktops & laptops), printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, televisions (CRT, LCD, LED, plasma),, cell phones, IT & networking equipment, medical & lab equipment, communications equipment, phones, servers, monitors (CRT, LCD, LED), MP3 players, PDA's, tablets, ink and toner cartridges.

Each year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency honors businesses, individuals, governments and organizations that have contributed significantly to improving the environment and protecting public health.
