Nippon Steel, Wisco agree to set up tin plate JV

Nippon Steel and China's Wuhan Iron and Steel Corp (Wisco) have formally agreed to set up a joint venture for tin plate production in Hubei

BEIJING (Scrap Monster) : Nippon Steel and China’s Wuhan Iron and Steel Corp (Wisco) have formally  agreed to set up a joint venture for tin plate production in Hubei.

The total investment for the JV is estimated at $277 million, and would be the largest JV project in Hubei Province.

The tin plate owns the advantages of good corrosion resistance, certain degree of strength and hardness, good formability and weld ability, thin layer of non-toxic and tasteless and the bright surface.

Also, it can prevent the iron from dissolving in a packaged product, mainly used in food can industry, chemical, oil, pharmaceutical and other packaging materials, Yieh Corp reported.
