New partnership set to boost electronic recycling in the Netherlands

AMSTERDAM (Scrap Monster): The joint venture between the country’s leading recycling company and one of the top equipment manufacturers is likely to give big boost to e-waste recycling in the Netherlands. Baestan Group has partnered with Liquisort to create a new company, which is expected to open a state-of-the-art e-waste recycling facility at Veldhoven.

The joint venture Liquisort-Baestan’s modern plant will focus on extraction of non-ferrous metal particles as small as 25mm. The facility will make use of patented ‘Magnetic Density Separation’ technology to sort metal fractions. The technology claims to minimize carbon dioxide emissions significantly.

The Baetsen Group is a family business which has grown into an organization with operations in transport, recycling, containers, crane rental, building materials and plastics. The company’s activities are aimed at easing the pressure on the environment and creating a healthier world. The joint venture will give top priority to environmental sustainability, the company spokesperson said.

The Liquisort Group is characterised by its intensive knowledge and experience in the field of density separation in a magnetic liquid. Liquisort possesses expert know-how in the field of magnetic sorting installations, mechanical engineering and research, and the construction of a wide variety of systems for the recycling industry.

The operations at the new facility are scheduled to commence in October this year.
