Mexican steel industry urges govt to use 50% Steel products in public construct
MEXICO CITY (Scrap Monster): Carlos Fernández Suárez, the president of Mexico’s National Chamber of Transformation Industry (Canacintra), has said that the prices of the Chinese steel products were 30% cheaper than Mexican product, mainly caused by unfair subsidiary such as electricity and other activities.
In addition, he indicated that the local production capacity is able to meet the domestic consumption.
Therefore, he is urged Mexican federal government to take appropriate measures such as setting up a restriction that at least 50% of national steel products used in public constructions.
