Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange edged down in quiet Asian trading on Wednesday August 8 as investors looked to the release of Thursday's Chinese economic data for market cues.

LONDON (Scrap Monster): Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange edged down in quiet Asian trading on Wednesday August 8 as investors looked to the release of Thursday's Chinese economic data for market cues.

According to analyst, "the market awaits key Chinese data released later in the week on thin volumes and quiet conditions,”

At 04:35 London time, three-month copper was down $19 per tonne from its opening price to trade at $7,539.50 per tonne.
