LME Copper advances on US data
LONDON (Scrap Monster): London Metal Exchange (LME) copper rose on Tuesday as the euro gained against the dollar after data showed U.S. consumer confidence jumped to its highest in seven months in September, but gains were capped by concerns about the outlook for demand from top copper consumer China.
All other base metal prices also traded higher on LME market on Tuesday. Tin prices in LME market broke smartly above $21,000, advanced by 4.82% to $21390 per metric ton. LME nickel prices advanced over $18,000/mt to $18270/ mt on Tuesday from $17805/ mt previously.
LME Price Highlights:
--Aluminium alloy remain unchanged at $1950 a metric ton
--Aluminium advanced 0.48% to $2068 per metric ton
--Copper rose 0.98% to $8235 a metric ton
--Lead rose 1.87% to $2283 per metric ton
--Nickel advanced 2.61% to $18270 per metric ton
--Tin rose 4.82% to $21390 per metric ton
--Zinc advanced 2.24% to $2091 a metric ton
– Steel rose 1.44% to $350 per metric ton
