Lassila & Tikanoja (L&T), listed in NASDAQ OMX in Helsinki has acquired the waste management business of PPT Luttinen Oy operating in Northern Finland

HELSINKI,FINLAND (Scrap Monster): Lassila &Tikanoja (L&T), environment management and recycled mateirals company, has acquired the waste management business of PPT Luttinen Oy, a company operating in the area around Oulu, Northern Finland. The company offers waste management, recycling and wastewater services.
The acquisition has come into effect from 1 March 2011. Nine employees of PPT Luttinen Oy will transfer into L&T's service. Net sales of the company amount to EUR 1.7 million.Meanwhile, L&T is also organising a Capital Markets Day for institutional investors and analysts on Wednesday.
During the day, the Group's executive management will present recycling and waste management business and renewable energy sources. There will also be a tour at L&T's recycling park in Kerava.
Lassila & Tikanoja specialises in environmental management and property and plant support services and is a leading supplier of wood-based biofuels, recovered fuels and recycled raw materials. With operations in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Russia, L&T employs 8,700 persons. Net sales in 2010 amounted to EUR 598 million. L&T is listed on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki.
