ISRI launches video series featuring benefits of recycled commodities

SPOKANE (Scrap Monster): The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has launched a new video series that aims to provide greater public awareness on the impacts and benefits of recycled commodities. As an initial step, the world body released three videos. More videos are scheduled to be released during early 2015, ISRI added.

Three new videos that were released this week include one on the overall impact of the $87 billion recycling industry on society. The other two videos focus on paper recycling and ferrous metal recycling respectively. According to Robin Wiener, President, ISRI, the video series showcases the accomplishments of the overall recycling industry. It also narrates the environmental, economic, and energy-saving benefits of recycling.

The first video, which covers the impact of recycling on general public, is a visual presentation of the ISRI Scrap Yearbook. The second and third video highlights numerous industry statistics and facts with respect to paper and ferrous metal recycling. Videos on other commodities such as non-ferrous metals, plastics, electronics and rubber are under preparation.

ISRI is a Washington, DC-based trade association representing more than 1,600 for-profit companies – ranging from small, family-owned businesses to large, multi-national corporations -- operating at more than 3,500 facilities in the United States and 34 countries worldwide.

The videos are available at ISRI website and YouTube Channel.
