ISRI Circle of Safety Excellence expands with addition of Metro Alloys Inc.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Metro Alloys Inc. has become the latest entrant into the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries’ (ISRI) Circle of Safety Excellence-an industry initiative to bring together like minded companies on improving operational safety within member facilities.

The inclusion of the East Point, Georgia-based metals recycling firm is in recognition of the company’s commitment to the highest safety standards. According to Neil Berman, President, Metro Alloys Inc., it will continue to maintain safety as one of the top issues and will explore more ways to elevate the safety performance of its employees.

Metro Alloys, which began its operations in 1982, is a leading buyer, processor and broker of industrial scrap metals. It collects and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals from industrial sources throughout North America. Over the years, the company has developed innovative ways for processing and marketing scrap and secondary metals by ensuring that all operations are in compliance with the applicable environment and safety regulations.

The ISRI Circle of Safety Excellence is a new initiative offered by ISRI to help improve worker safety in the recycling industry.  The key to this new initiative is the establishment of a platform – the Circle – within which like-minded companies voluntarily come forward to share safety data and best practices for the betterment of their own safety operation, and at the same time be recognized by ISRI for their commitment to safety.

Membership in the Circle is through an annual application process.
