Several iron ore smugglers were tracked down by the authorities, in Keonjhar district, and has already captured and closed down illegally extracted ore, but these actions has been not much contributed to stop the mineral mafia in the country.

According to the sources, the authorities as well as the smugglers works hand to hand and the criminals who were captured last day were small scale, comparing to the  real iron smugglers who are roaming around freely.

From the Dumrita Village, located in the Sidhamatha forest reserve, about 130 metric tons of iron ore, which were extracted from the illegal ore was found by the police. In addition to that 309 metric tons of iron ore were also seized in the same area.  The officials also captured about400 metric tons of iron ore from Murga-Bilepada.

From Joda mining area 839 metric tons of iron ore worth 20 lakhs were captured, along with that several mini trucks, trucks and tippers carrying illegal iron ore and manganese ore were also captured by the police.

The smuggling of mafia continues in Bolani, Joda, Barbil and Bamebar, even after the strict allegations by the police. These illegally extracted iron ores are carried out of Jharkand and transported to different areas such as Bihar, Chattisgarh and West Bengal in trucks.
