International Conference on Recycling begins in India

The 3-day international conference on recycling in India will become a platform for discussions regarding the submission of joint research projects between India and Europe

KOCHI, INDIA (Scrap Monster):The second International Conference on Recycling and Reuse of Materials jointly organised by Mahatma Gandhi University\'s Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology; Institute of Macromolecular Science and Engineering (IMSE); Beijing University of Chemical Technology; and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), South Africa, has begun here on Friday. The 3-day conference was inaugurated by Dr Rajan Gurukkal, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University.

The topics of the technical sessions will include agro-waste and biomass recycling, recycling of polymers, chemical recycling, e-waste disposal and recycling, biological recycling, water conservation, recycling and reuse, disposal and recycling of hospital wastes, recycling of metals, recycling of batteries and electrolytes, recycling and reuse of polymer nano-composites and nano-structures, recycling of fly ash, green materials, recycling of paper pulp, package waste and municipal waste, and Life Cycle Analysis.

The goal of the conference will be the recycling and reuse of waste materials. This symposium will bring together a panel of highly-accomplished experts from all fields of recycling science and technology, according to its organisers.
The conference will also become a platform for discussions regarding the submission of joint research projects between India and Europe/rest of the world covered under the FP7 framework of European Union. Discussions on collaborative projects between India and the rest of the world carried out through the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, will also be held
