Industry-funded recycling program expands into more BC communities

VANCOUVER (Scrap Monster): Vancouver’s Multi-Material BC (MMBC)- the industry funded recycling program has expanded itself to cover five more communities in British Columbia.

MMBC has already started curbside collection services in the city of Coquitlam during early-July. The services will be available to residents in the village of Anmore from August 1st onwards. Services are also scheduled to cover Quesnel, Prince George and University Endowment Lands in September. Nearly 55,000 households will get added to MMBC’s recycling services. Out of which, 25,000 households will have curbside recycling for the first time.

Allen Langdon, managing director of MMBC, says, "Since our program launched, we have been making it easier for residents to recycle more, whether by accepting materials like aerosol containers, paper beverage cups or plastic plant pots that previously were not recycled in curbside programs or by providing recycling services in communities that previously did not have access to them.”

MMBC is a funded non-profit organization that co-ordinates take-back program for residential packaging and printed paper based in Vancouver.
