India's central government has asked the Odisha state government to make sure that land acquisition for Posco's project in the state is made peacefully and in law governed means
NEW DELHI (Scrap Monster): India’s central government has asked the Odisha state government to make sure that land acquisition for Posco’s project in the state is made peacefully and in law governed means.
POSCO will build a $12 billion steel plant in Odisha, resourcefully rich eastern state of India.
About 2,000 villagers protested on Saturday against Posco's planned steel plant in Odisha, formerly known as Orissa, with women and children forming a human ring around the site.
Posco’s original agreement was signed in 2005 but environmental concerns, government enquiries and tribal’s rehabilitation issues have already delayed the proposed plan.
