Goodwill partners with FNBT to offer free e-waste recycling service

The Northern Illinois-based Goodwill Industries in partnership with local First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) will offer three free e-waste recycling events during August and September this year.

CHICAGO (Scrap Monster): The Northern-Illinois based Goodwill Industries has partnered with First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) to offer free electronics recycling events. The partnership will offer three free e-waste collection events at various FNBT branch premises during the months of August and September this year.

The designated FNBT branches will be provided with mobile e-waste collection facility. The first collection event is scheduled to be held at FNBT’s 300 East Main Street in Rockton, Illinois branch on Saturday, August 1st. Another event will be conducted on Saturday, 29th August at the 2600 Cranston Road in Beloit, Wisconsin branch premises. The third and final event will be held at 1795 Madison Road in Beloit, Wisconsin FNBT branch on Saturday, September 12th.

According to FNBT officials, the events would help residents to safely and securely dispose off their unwanted electrical items. Along with eliminating huge chunks of discarded electronics, the events also offers financial support to Goodwill by way of offering $0.1 in donation for every pond of e-waste collected during the events. In turn, Goodwill will ensure that each item thus collected is recycled. The proceeds would be utilized to support the company’s employment programmes in the region.

Residents are allowed to drop off variety of items including cell phones, computers, printers, small appliances, VCRs, DVD players and stereos.
