Global pig iron production decreased for second straight month in September, declining to 90.04 million metric tons, slightly up by 0.85 percent compared to September 2011, according to the preliminary data covering 38 countries, released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

LONDON (Scrap Monster): Global pig iron production decreased for second straight month in September, declining to 90.04 million metric tons, slightly up by 0.85 percent compared to September 2011, according to the preliminary data covering 38 countries, released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
In the meantime, in the first nine months of this year, world pig iron production amounted to 836.53 million metric tons, rising by 1.56 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
