Fraudsters held while trying to sell fake gold biscuits

NEW DELHI (Scrap Monster): According to media reports, villagers in India detained two men attempting to sell fake gold biscuits. The incident took place in Harrakheda village in Bhopal District, Madhya Pradesh, India. The culprits were later handed over to police. Two fake gold biscuits were recovered from them.

Earlier, around three months back, two villagers were duped by fraudsters who sold them fake gold biscuits. When these people approached a shop to sell their gold biscuits, they were astonished to find that the gold biscuits were fake ones. The fraudsters had provided their contact number to the villagers. The villagers called upon the miscreants and informed that they need more gold for Diwali festival.

The fraudsters came to the village on Sunday to deliver the gold. A group of villagers had gathered at the spot to nab them. As promised, a gang of five people came to the village to deliver gold. Three of them sensed danger and escaped. However, the villagers managed to nab the other two. When checked, they were found to possess two fake gold biscuits. The culprits were caught red-handed and handed over to police.

Last week, police had arrested two people in Tuticorin for selling fake gold beads. According to police, the men approached people, saying that they discovered a big treasure of gold beads weighing nearly 3 kilograms, while digging in their farm. The customers were offered beads for half the market rate. However, police upon suspicion, detained the two men. They found that the beads in their possession were bronze beads coated with gold.
