Electronic Recycling Association to open Winnipeg location

WINNIPEG (Scrap Monster): Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has announced plans to open a full-service depot in Winnipeg, Manitoba. According to Bojan Paduh, President, ERA, the not-for-profit organization plans to provide its services to rapidly growing Winnipeg community. Currently, ERA has locations only in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Montreal and Toronto.

The new location is expected to contribute significantly to Winnipeg’s overall sustainability. It will help reduce electronic waste in the region. The association believes that efficient recovery and refurbishment systems will help reduce the environmental impacts caused by unhealthy disposal of electronic waste. ERA will partner with individual residents and corporations to ensure that electronic devices including computers and laptops are reused or refurbished before they are trashed, shredded and melted. Through this process, ERA also plans to make technological donations to local Manitoba communities.

The Winnipeg location is expected to open in late-2015 or early-2016, Bojan Paduh stated.

ERA is a non-profit organization dedicated to reduce the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. With reuse being the ERA's top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and refurbished for reuse. ERA reduces electronic waste through reuse and recycling of unwanted computers, laptops and related electronic equipment.
