MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped by 6.3% during the month of October year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by Byelorussia surged higher by 62.8% during October this year to 220,000 tonnes from 135,000 tonnes in October 2013. Kazakhstan produced 335,000 tonnes of crude steel, slightly higher by 4.6% when compared to 320,000 tonnes production achieved during October 2013. Moldova recorded 35,000 tonnes steel output during the month. The total crude steel production by Russia was slightly up by 1.6% from 5.748 Million tonnes in October 2013 to 5.840 Million tonnes this October.
There was marked decline in Ukraine’s crude steel output in October. Ukraine’s total crude steel output declined sharply by 28.7% to 1.870 Million tonnes in October 2014 when compared with the output of 2.622 Million tonnes during October last year. However, Uzbekistan’s crude steel output grew by 6.9% during the month.
