Call2Recycle to employ Battery Solutions’ sorting technology

ATLANTA (Scrap Monster): Howell, Michigan-based Battery Solutions has entered into a partnership with Call2Recycle Inc. As part of the agreement, the Atlanta-based battery stewardship organization will make use of Battery Solutions’ battery sorting technology at all sites across the US.

Carl Smith, CEO and president of Call2Recycle noted that the new partnership will boost the efficiency of managing waste batteries. He expressed happiness in partnering with the leader in sorting technologies. Call2Recycle had received quite a few proposals, but had decided to select Battery Solutions as its partner after thorough evaluation and scrutiny of work process. The association with Battery Solutions is expected to operate at highest industry standards and is aimed at expanding battery recycling, Smith added.

Battery Solutions’ Howell, Michigan and Mesa, Arizona facility has already begun sorting of Call2Recycle’s collection containers. According to estimates, Battery Solutions collects nearly 40 million pounds of batteries for recycling every year. The company had recently introduced automated sorting technology for sorting batteries by chemistry. Call2Recycle hopes to collect over 7 million pounds of batteries during 2016.
