A major chunk of the lumber imports to Gulf countries is currently from Europe. The B.C Company foresees an increased demand in near future which will help the B.C based wood exporters to tap the Middle East market.

According to statistics, the softwood lumber consumption in the Middle East has surged in 2012 by 8% from the previous year. Out of the total shipments to the Middle East through Dubai, Saudi Arabia consumed 61%, United Arab Emirates-31%,Kuwait-7% and Qatar-1%.

The bulk of construction activities across the Middle East countries, especially Saudi Arabia will boost the demand for lumber products to be used as concrete frames.
