Asian crude steel production rose marginally in October

Asian crude steel production rose marginally in October

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia climbed higher by 0.6% during the month of October year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by China during October was 67.516 Million tonnes, dropping marginally by 0.3% when compared with the production during October 2013. India produced 7.080 Million tonnes of crude steel, up 8.5% when compared to 6.523 Million tonnes production achieved during October 2013.

Japan reported marginal decline in monthly crude steel output during October. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.527 Million tonnes in October 2013 to 9.362 Million tonnes in the same month this year.

South Korean crude steel production was up considerably by 4.5% during October from 5.899 Million tonnes in October 2013 to 6.166 Million tonnes in October this year.

The Taiwanese October steel output edged higher by 4.8% to 1.970 Million tonnes from 1.881 Million tonnes during same month last year.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first ten months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
