Arkansas DEQ invites applications for E-waste grants

LITTLE ROCK (Scrap Monster): The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has invited applications for distribution of grants through its Electronic Waste Grants Program for 2014. The grants will be awarded to entities that facilitate and promote sustained processes for recovery, recycling, and demanufacturing of scrap computers and electronics. The DEQ plans to distribute nearly $200,000 as e-waste grants.

The following entities in Arkansas are eligible to apply for funding under this program: private industries; schools, colleges or universities; cities or counties; regional solid waste management boards; non-profit organizations or associations; state or local government entities and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

Grantees must sign a Statement of Agreement with ADEQ, and the date this document is signed by ADEQ (i.e., the execution date) marks the beginning of the grant timeline. Grant funds must be fully expended within one year from the execution date.

The submission of applications is open from July 15th onwards. The last date of submission is September 1st. The winners of the awards will be announced on or before December 31st, 2014.
