WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster): The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has joined the newly formed public-private recycling collaboration-Recycling Partnership. According to company news release, AF&PA will be part of the Partnership’s Advisory Committee which decides the recycling scope of each community.
The move to join hands with Recycling Partnership is part of the Association’s efforts to boost paper recycling and recovery of paper and paper-based packaging. According to the Washington-based paper recycling body, the new collaboration would help them to more effectively represent the paper recycling industry.
The proposed Recycling Partnership will initially focus on boosting recycling in the Southeastern part of the US. However, it intends to soon expand the organization’s activities across the nation.
The partnership is expected to launch as early as July.
American Chemistry Council (ACC) Plastics division had also recently joined the Recycling Partnership.
