12th October, 2017: North American Scrap Metal Prices Recorded Modest Rebound

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices edged higher marginally on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on October 12^th, Thursday. Stainless Steel and Aluminum scrap prices too recorded slight uptick. Brass and Bronze scrap prices too reported marginal increase. Meantime, Steel scrap prices declined over the day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.04 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.04 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.04 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery increased marginally by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were also up marginally by $0.02 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.04 per Lb to touch $2.70 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap were up by $0.02 per Lb relative to previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged. CuYokes prices reported marginal gain of $0.01 per Lb from the day before.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe were up slightly by $0.01 per Lb on October 12^th, 2017.

Heater Cores, Romex Wire and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units and Xmas Lights maintained previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices remained flat over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were flat at $0.71 per Lb. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too were unchanged.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions held steady over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions remained flat at $0.68 per Lb and $0.66 per Lb respectively.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe rose marginally by $0.01 per Lb each. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on 12^th October, 2017.

Chrome Wheels and E.C Aluminum Wire prices remained flat over the day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips remained flat at $0.71 per Lb and $0.69 per Lb respectively.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too remained unchanged.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC witnessed no change over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too held steady.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices declined by $25 per MT.

The prices of #1 Busheling, HMS 80/20 and Shredded Auto Scrap too were down by $25 per MT on 12^th October, 2017.

#1 HMS and Sheet Metal prices dropped by $20 per MT over the previous day.

Structural Steel prices also dropped by $20 per MT.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices held steady over the day.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were unchanged on Index.

309 SS witnessed marginal rise of $0.01 per Lb on 12^th October, 2017.

310 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed rise of $0.01 per Lb each.

330 SS prices surged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on October 12^th, 2017.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were up marginally by $0.01 per Lb on Index.
