Colmar began its activity in 1963, thanks to the idea of two gentleman. These men started producing machines for the earth-moving and agricultural sector, assembling different parts of military machines left by the American army after World War II. In 1967, the first Colmar USA Railroad Loader was produced. The machine was used in the construction of the of the Rome-Venice railroad line in Italy. In 1968, Colmar USA produced the first semi-mobile industrial loader designed for the lifting of heavy loads by installing a rotating cabin on a lorry chassis. In the early 70 s, Colmar USA, owing to the experience gathered in the sector of earth moving machines, increased and widened its product range. Furthermore, significant improvements of the design procedures, aimed to spur the production of industrial loaders and of equipment manufactured for the construction and maintenance of railroads. In order to expand its product range for the metal recycling business during the 90 s, Colmar USA began the manufacturing of Balers and Shear Balers for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. In 2000, Colmar USA obtained the ISO 9001:1994 Certification, the highest European Standard of Quality Control Manufacturing. In 2005, the new CAYMAN series horizontal shears emerged as a new product on the world market. These machines are characterized by their ease of use, their low maintenance requirements, and their high production output. In 2009, Colmar USA presented it's newest stationary shear baler, the EAGLE 1000. One of our largests and strongest shear balers we have in our line.
