We take discarded soft drinks and water bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and milk bottles made from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and recycle them back into food-grade plastic. The resulting rPET and rHDPE is then used to make new bottles and food packaging.

Our plant in Dagenham is the first to use state of the art technology to sort, wash and super clean both types of plastic meeting EU and US FDA standards.

The facility is capable of recycling 35,000 tonnes of bottles each year.

875 million bottles that would otherwise have been exported for recycling, or sent to landfill, will now be reprocessed and remain in the UK. This represents nearly 10% of the plastic bottles that are currently collected for recycling in the UK, saving approximately 52,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

rPET Flake

Food grade rPET flake is produced by the URRC Hybrid UnPET™ process and meets both EU and US FDA criterias for direct food contact. This material is made from clear and light blue PET bottles.

rPET pellet

Pelletised food-grade rPET is also available.

rHDPE pellet

Food grade rHDPE pellet is produced using an Erema Vacurema and to meet EU criteria for direct food contact. The material is made from natural HDPE milk bottles.
